What's a Power Up?

What if you could have conversations with your kids that built trust and helped you actually see and know each other? What if they knew they could come to you, no matter what mistake they'd made?

That's the idea behind our "I Need to Tell You Something" magnet and "Door Opener" cards, which open the door to deep conversations.

If you want your kids to come to you with any problem — now and when they're teenagers — building trust with them is one of the biggest things to focus on in your parent-child relationship.

We want to set the stage so that our kids don't hide their mistakes from us, but instead come to us when they need help. We do this by introducing our "I Need to Tell You Something" magnet (which is a reminder to keep calm), and keeping it in an easy-to-find spot.

Then we build ongoing trust in the family by regularly talking about what really matters. Each card in our "Door Openers" deck has an interesting question to help kids and grown-ups share thoughtful discussions about your parent-child relationship, kindness, gratitude, resilience, and more. Questions include:
