Curriculum: Up & Down, Round & Round

This Social-Emotional Learning curriculum includes 7 small group lessons filled with engaging learning opportunities for children in Kindergarten through Second and Third through Fifth grade.

This curriculum is intended to be used alongside the book, Up & Down, Round & Round by Sara Olsher at Mighty + Bright. Each lesson follows a consistent format of Check-in, Connect, and Reflect with corresponding visual resources. This curriculum aligns with the CASEL social emotional learning competencies of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, and Social Awareness.

The focus topics include:

• Identifying and managing one’s emotions
• Linking feelings, values, and thoughts
• Identifying and using stress management strategies
• Showing concern for the feelings of others
• Taking others’ perspectives

This product can be utilized within the school, clinic, or community settings! Each small group session takes approximately 30 minutes and the lessons can be adapted to best fit your group members’ needs and ability levels.
